Here are some tips on how to maintain Lionstek smart waterjet machines in low temperature environment. It is especially important for the five axis machine:
I、Z-axis maintenance

Remove the protective cover of the Z-axis in Figure 1.Remove the dirt on the screw with a clean cloth.Evenly apply grease to the T- screw in Figure 2 and move up and down (180 mm) several times until the grease moves evenly into the T- screw nut.Finally install the protective cover. Pay attention to press "Emergency Stop" once when disassembling the protective cover to avoid the electrical failure of the Z-axis.
II、Y-axis maintenance (model 2040 for example)

Remove the three fastening screws of Y-axis pillars in Figure 3.Clean the rack and guide rails with WD-40 spray cleaner. Remove dirt with cleaning cloth, and then add grease to the four ball bearing pieces of the two Y-axis pillars with a butter gun according to Figure 4. When grease is seen to flow out of the slits of the ball bearing pieces, move back and forth several times and then install the Y-axis bellow cover fixing strip.
III. Maintenance of X-axis, Y-axis ballscrews and guide rails (Model 1613, 2040 for examples)

Remove the fixing plates on both sides of the X-axis and Y-axis carriages in Figure 5. Clean the ballscrews and the linear guide rails with WD-40 in Figure 6. Wipe the dirt off the screw and guide rails with a cleaning cloth. Grease the X and Y carriages with the method in Figure 7 below. Apply water-proof glue evenly to the contact surfaces on both sides of the X and Y-axis carriages. Finally, reinstall the fixing plate on the bellow covers.

IV. Maintenance and maintenance of the B-axis of universal tilting head

When Lionstek five-axle waterjet machine cuts a thick part, the software will automatically compensate for the taper throught tilting the cutting head by means of A and B axis. Abrasive may reach the wear discs of the slideway of B axis while it is working, which may result in decreasing cutting precision. Push-in the "Emergency Stop" button.Remove the two screws on the protective covers of the B axis slideway in Figure 8.Wash the wear disc and bearing with WD-40.Remove any foreign debris inside.Push the cutting head back and forth slowly by hand. Reinstall the cover plate.
Note: Lionstek equipment will be delivered with a spare box of grease. Maintenance items I, II, III of the above should be carried out every three months. Maintenance item IV of the above should be carried out weekly.
In addition, if the temperature is lower than the working temperature of the chiller, the alarm of the chiller will be set off. The solution is to turn off the power of the chiller first.Wait for the high-pressure pump to work for 15 minutes, and then turn on the power of the chiller manually. The working temperature of Lionstek water jet shall be within 5 ℃ ~ 40 ℃. If the ambient temperature is lower than 5 ℃, please stop using the water jet. If the ambient temperature is lower than 0 ℃, it is recommended to do the following treatments.
Turn off the high-pressure pump.Open the cutting head on/off valve.Drain the water in the high-pressure pump, high-pressure pipeline and cutting head.Disconnect the water inlet of the high-pressure pump. Connectcompressed air to the water inlet of the high-pressure pump, and use the compressed air to drain the water in the high-pressure pump, high-pressure pipeline and cutting head out of the cutting head. Open the drain valve of the chiller to drain the water in the chiller.Disconnect the cooling water inlet of the high-pressure pump.Connect the compressed air to the cooling water inlet of the high-pressure pump, and use the compressed air to drain all the water in the cooling circuit of the high-pressure pump and the chiller. Disconnect the main water inlet of the water jet system.Drain the water in the water pipe from the main water inlet to the water inlet of the high-pressure pump.Connect the compressed air to the main water inlet end of the water pipe, and use the compressed air to drain all the remaining water. Clean the water outside the filter and inside the filter of high-pressure pump. The water in the cold water circuit can not be drained, but antifreeze should be added, and the freezing point of the cooling water added with antifreeze shoud be 10 ℃ ~ 15 ℃ lower than the minimum temperature of the local environmental conditions.For example, the local minimum temperature is - 30 ℃, so the freezing point of the antifreeze should be around - 45 ℃.
Tips: please check the weep holes at the connections of high pressure pipeline and all high pressure parts before going off work every day, and repair faulty parts in time to prevent water leakage.In addition, during a prolonged holiday season, please remove residual water from equipment other than water tank, so as to avoid freezing occurring in the water chiller, booster pump, filter element, high pressure pump and other equipment.
